
Ecobliss since 1996
Ecobliss was founded in 1996 by Ron Linssen. The company grew out of a cold seal technology for blister packaging that he invented in 1995 together with Professor G. Wouters.
Timeline
- 1995: Ron Linssen and Professor G. Wouters invent a new cold seal technology for blister packaging. The first patent application dates from July 1995 (European patent EP0866840).
- 1996: Ron Linssen founds Ecobliss.
- 2007: First webshop: stock blisters become available online. More than 10,000,000 blisters have been sold since.
- 2010: Partnership with Starview for packaging machines in Europe.
- 2011: Directly printed, thermoformed blisters, using roll-to-roll offset or flexo printing.
- 2013: Start of commercial pharmaceutical packaging, and start of the development of the Locked4Kids child-resistant carton.
- 2014: Launch of Locked4Kids. CPhI Pharma Award for best innovation in packaging and a Zilveren Noot at De Gouden Noot.
- 2015: WorldStar award and WorldStar President's Award in gold for the Locked4Kids carton.
- 2016: Locked4Kids 2.0, with a fine-tuned hook mechanism for 100% senior friendliness. NJPEC Package of the Year gold award in the pharmaceutical category.
- 2017: AmeriStar Best of Show for Locked4Kids.
- 2021: GMP formally implemented across the organisation, with a quality officer.
- 2022: All-paper trays for Locked4Kids.
- 2023: Development of the all-paper Wallet Box.
